Our luxury cheese hamper has been curated by us, to showcase the best that East Anglia in Norfolk has to offer.  We've selected these cheeses to accommodate all tastes, and would be a welcomed treat at your table or maybe as a gif for someone special.

Here at Morton's Family Farm, we take pride in working with local artisan producers, and being able to offer our customers, a taste of the region.

Our East Anglian luxury Cheese Hamper contains:

Mrs Temple's Binham Blue, 180g-220g - Binham Blue is a soft, blue-veined cheese made from pasteurised milk from Holstein Friesian & Swiss Brown cows, which graze near Wells-Next-The-Sea, Norfolk. The interior is pale yellow, with grey-blue specks. It has a creamy texture and a tasty, luxurious flavour, which is not overwhelming, but full of character. It is more like Gorgonzola than Stilton.

Norfolk Dapple, 180g-220g - Norfolk Dapple is an unpasteurised, clothbound hard cow's milk cheese with a dappled rind. The cheese has won a number of awards including silver & bronze awards in the British Cheese Awards. This cheese is smooth and creamy, cheddar-like, with a hint of nuttiness in the lingering aftertaste. Mature and full flavoured with a dry and hard texture.

Lincolnshire Poacher, 180g-220g - The recipe for Lincolnshire Poacher cheese is a cross between a traditional West Country cheddar and a continental alpine cheese such as Comte. There are, though, a number of small technical differences within the make, that give the cheese its unique texture and flavour.

Baron Bigod, 250g - A traditional farmhouse Brie style cheese, handmade at Fen Farm from raw grass-fed Montbeliarde cows milk. Your cheese will be hand wrapped in wax paper and packed in its own beautiful wooden box. Tasting notes: Warm milky flavours, notes of mushrooms, earth and farmyard with a nutty rind.

Bungay Raw Butter, 90g - Bungay Raw Butter is the UK’s only raw farmhouse butter produced by using a lactic culture. It is made by hand on the farm in the traditional way, by souring the cream using a cocktail of lactic bacteria, before churning and hand-paddling with traditional scotch ‘butter hands’ made from woodIt is the closest thing to the original Suffolk butter.

Peter's Yard Original Sourdough Crispbreads, 105g x2 - Made in the UK by a team of skilled bakers, following an original Swedish recipe. Using simple, natural ingredients including Shipton Mill organic flour, organic fresh milk, and their precious sourdough, which is fed daily and allowed to ferment for 16 hours before each batch is baked.

Candi's Chutney Norfolk Crier Onion Marmalade, 284g jar - Honest sweet onion flavours, with a good contrast of Black Pepper & White Mustard Seeds. A good all round Chutney, which has previously been awarded 2 Gold Stars from the Guild of Fine Food in the Great Taste Awards.

What is a Norfolk Black/Bronze

Norfolk Black/Bronze

After much deliberation and consideration, we have decided to simplify our Christmas 2023 offering and will no longer be rearing the true traditional Norfolk Black turkeys that we did back in 2020, we know our customers love the flavour of the Norfolk Black but the complications in rearing these birds and supplying the right weights means we sometimes let customers down and that won't do.

We have a compromise, we have crossed a Norfolk Bronze hen with a traditional Norfolk Black stag to produce a Norfolk Black cross Bronze turkey, what we believe this has achieved is a great-tasting turkey with a fuller yielding breast and just as good as the Norfolk Blacks.

We are only rearing these as hen birds which will mean we only have birds in the range of 6kg.

Mortons Standard

As with all our turkeys, our Norfolk Black/Bronze have had a free-range life before being humanely dispatched.? We dry-pluck our turkeys by hand and leave them to hang for a truly unique flavour.
