August Food Festivals 2013 in Norfolk

August Food Festivals 2013 in Norfolk

Could you tell us a bit about your experience of the Aylsham show?

The Aylsham Show is a small country show, based in the grounds of Blickling Hall, Norfolk. It has been going for a number of years now.

The show has a bit of everything; the food stalls, the house and grounds to visit as well as the horses and cattle on show. It’s got everything you’d expected at a country food fayre and it’s a great day out for all the family.

Do you regularly go to the Aylsham Show?

Yes, as it’s only local to us, we do go yearly. We take the children there; and we  see a lot of friendly faces, as there’s a lot of people we know that are there too. The food hall has a lot of local producers there, so it’s a good meeting point for us all.

Will Morton’s Traditional Taste be exhibiting at the show this year?

Yes, this year we will be having a stand there to showcase our ‘Smoked’ products, so we will be there on the day giving out samples of our wares and maybe running a competition on the day too. Come and visit our stand to find out what we have on offer.

What other events for Norfolk food producers are being held in August?

We have the North Norfolk Food & Drink Festival 31st Aug – 1st Sept 2013; held in The Courtyard, at Holkham Hall at the end of the month with 50 local producers and food stand holders all showcasing and selling their locally made produce and wares.

There is  a cookery theatre on site with various guest speakers, chefs and food specialists like butchers showing you how to do things.

We are proud to be sponsoring the marquee for this year’s cookery theatre, so we’re looking forward to a good day out.

Do you know any of the other exhibitors at the show?

Yes we know a good few of the exhibitors personally, like  Sarah Pettegree  of Brays Cottage Pork Pies,  who have a pork pie for every occasional really. A good friend of mine Sam Papworth of Papworth Butchers, will be there with his butchery. And some of the big boys ; Kettle Foods and The Flying Kiwi Inns will be there too.

So this is another one of Norfolk’s Food Festival, on in August – where you can go there for the day, maybe learn a few food tips, taste a range of Norfolk’s finest locally produced wares direct from the producers themselves as well as have a good meal out too, with all the family.
