Planning A Christmas Feast For All Party Sizes

The clocks have changed, and the nights are drawing in, which means it’s definitely time to start thinking about the festive season. And, while Christmas is likely to look a little different for us all, there are still lots of ways to bring festive cheer to the table.

Here at Morton’s, we have been gearing up for Christmas and slow-rearing our Norfolk Bronze free-range turkeys and Norfolk Black turkeys since early June (we actually started planning as far back as February!). As you can probably tell, we don’t like to rush things and our ethos is to remain small and focus on free-range and pastured produce, looking after the welfare of our animals and nurturing them to their fullest potential. This is why our turkeys are reared for 25 weeks, and we ensure they are happy and healthy during their lifetime. This is compared to supermarket turkeys, which are often grown for just 16 short weeks.

Although the Christmas Day celebration itself might be a more intimate affair than we’re used to, it wouldn’t be Christmas, in our humble option, without turkey. Whether you want a big bird on the table (we know the need for turkey sandwiches the next day) or something a little smaller, we have you covered – our turkeys range from 3.5kg to 10kg.

But, we understand that not everyone will need a whole bird this year so, we’re shaking up our range and offering Norfolk Bronze Turkey Breast Joints, Free-Range Bronze Turkey Crowns, and Stuffed Turkey Breast Supreme, all which still taste delicious and will make a standout centrepiece of any Christmas lunch or dinner.

For those of you who have had a stressful enough 2020 and want to take it out of Christmas altogether, we have small, medium and large hampers filled with produce from local suppliers, and include everything you need for the ultimate Christmas feast including turkey, smoked salmon, pigs in blankets, and much more. And, for Boxing Day, try our smoked hamper filled with chicken breast, free-range duck, salmon and sauces. And, don’t forget our top tips for planning ahead for Christmas so on the day all you need to do is kick back and relax…

Of course, if turkey isn’t your thing, why not try a Free-Range Goose, a Free-Range Chicken or a Free-Range Cockerel for a different taste of Christmas. Whatever you decide to go for, make sure you get yours from us here:
